SMASHING PUMPKINS: Bang! Festival 'Postponed'
November 9, 2007This year's Bang! Festival, which was set to feature SMASHING PUMPKINS as one of the headliners and go down this weekend in Miami, has been postponed, according to the Bang! web site. No reason was announced for the postponement, although tickets can be refunded at point of purchase.
SMASHING PUMPKINS was recently force to reschedule five shows following the announcement that drummer Jimmy Chamberlin was admitted to a hospital after experiencing some chest discomfort.
Chamberlin was taken to an Atlanta hospital and was given an angiogram which revealed a partially blocked artery. He rested at the hospital overnight and was released.
SMASHING PUMPKINS' latest album, "Zeitgeist", has just been re-released and packaged with a full-length DVD documentary titled "Inside the Zeitgeist". The disc also contains three bonus tracks, including a previously unreleased song called "Ma Belle". The other songs included are "Stellar" and "Death from Above". This special version of "Zeitgeist" features an all-new metallic silver color scheme as well.
The "Zeitgeist" re-release is sold exclusively at Best Buy stores.

The band, which features original members Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin, is currently touring in support of "Zeitgeist", its first album of all-new material in seven years.
Corgan and Chamberlin are the only original PUMPKINS members in this lineup, which introduces new guitarist Jeff Schroeder, bassist Ginger Reyes and keyboardist Lisa Harriton. None of them played on the album, however.
The latest single from the CD is called "That's the Way (My Love Is)".
